Looking for custom embroidered sheets for toddlers to tweens(and fun adults!)

crabby.jpgoars.jpg                         flipflop.jpg

Sue Byrne and her daughter-in-law Ann Marie Byrne who run room threads can do that for you—and with tons of style!!!

Check out the detailed Dragon sheet set for your wild child!!

I absolutely love it!!

Then, for the softer at heart, there is the great Dress-Up style sheet set…soooo sweeeet!!dressup1.jpg

I also adore the Flip-Flop, Crabby, and Oar styles as well.  I think they can be fantastic for adults too—I am going to have to show these to my mother who just built a northwoods cabin!  How cute would those styles I just mentioned be on the beds up there??!!!

The skill that these women have is apparent.  Wonderful edging, and high quality embellishments will not be uncomfortable when they touch even the most sensitive skin.

They also make custom crib bedding for those of you, who, like me, couldn’t find anything in the stores that fit what I was looking for.  Add to that custum changing pads, teething cloths, bibs and burp cloths, and you are set!

If you want the extra personalization, spring for a name to be added to the sets.  Great way to transition a fussy toddler to their “own” bed!

Currently, you can order directly through roomthreads.com–great customer service by the way–or find these sets included in hip online boutiques such as Maddie’s Closet, Rosenberry Rooms, Baby’s In Style and Angeli Boutique.

Why not add some Mom Appeal with a little “room frosting!”  Mama Jen

giggle’s online boutique, egiggle is sure to please!

Ali Wing, giggle CEO and founder, always says “We do the homework so new parents can giggle.”  And giggle I did when I looked at all of the wonderful, unique, and chic items available at egiggle.com for new parents and their babies!  And they really do their homework—check out the giggle criteria for each product–what a snazzy way to inform consumers!

I requested a couple of items to see in person, and they are fabulous!!

I got the chance to check out the Decortive Wood Wall Panels (set of 4), and boy are they a treat!!  Covered in a wonderful modern pattern, they attach to any clean surface so that you can custom decorate your nursery or playroom!  I am a person who gets bored easily, so being able to change the pattern upon the wall is perfect for me! The older your child gets, they can have fun deciding where they want them placed on the wall too!

I also got to see two of the lovely aprons they carry for the mini-person in your life!

The first one is by Mimi the Sardine, and it is adorable!!  Covered with cute little graphic bugs and an environmentally sound, non-toxic acrylic coating that meets the Oeko-Tex 100 Standard, it is permanently water and soil resistant—best thing—it is sooooo soft, and not at all stiff!! Wipe clean or machine wash! Great for your mini gardener!!

The second apron is the Organic Cotton Veggie apron by Under the Nile, and I wish you could feel just how soft it is!  This fair-traded organic product would be wonderful for your little gardener, or veggie washer!!

The fact that all of these wonderful high-end products are bundled together in one hip and chic store, and that the homework is done for you has loads of Mom Appeal!!  Mama Jen

Helping Kids Has Mom Appeal!

front-page-logo.jpgBack in 2004, my husband and I watched a news story about a start up organization that was planning to distribute donated School Supply Kits to children in Iraq. The organization was called Operation Iraqi Children, and the founders were actor Gary Sinise and author Laura Hillenbrand. I thought the idea sounded terrific, so I put together 10 packages and sent them off to the warehouse in Kansas City. Our donation was in the second or third shipment overseas.

75+ shipments later, this project is still going strong. Since 2004 there has been a school supply drive for Katrina victims and there is currently a drive for urgently needed items such as shoes in Iraq. This is all in addition to the school supply kits that are steadily sent overseas for distribution.

With school supply sales just around the corner, I’m excited to start assembling another box of school supply packages to donate to this worthy cause. If you may have an interest in participating, check out the easy to follow assembly and shipping directions on the web site.

Whether it’s this cause or another, helping kids has a lot of Mom Appeal!

Another caffeination revelation in my house: French Press

bodum.jpgFrequently you’ll find posts here at MomAppeal devoted to our favorite form of caffeine–coffee–and the tasty ways to make it.  Well, a lot of you, like us use this wonderful boost to get through the craziness of our days, so it is fun to learn of new ways to incorporate it and prepare it!

I have had one of these dandy Bodum French Presses in my house for along time, originally purchased for tea.  On a recent trip to my favorite local restaurant (Le Chardonnay–currently reviewed on Madison Mom Appeal ), Sami the owner brought a French press filled with hot coffee to the table.  Well, forget the spendy trips to your local coffee house, this is how you get that awesome flavor!

Best thing is, it takes no time at all to make, and you can put it away when you are done–conserving important counter space!

Have zero time in the morning?  Check out the awesome travel presses Bodum has to offer!

Great way to start the day off right for yourself and your kiddos!
