Fall…Let’s Celebrate!

Is Labor Day the new New Years? This was a snippet I heard on tv yesterday this week…and it was interesting to contemplate briefly! Parentally speaking, do we celebrate more because the crystal ball dropped in Times Square again or because we’re about to get a relief from the heat, a more structured schedule, and a new season of Grey’s Anatomy (oops, that’s my fav, you go ahead and insert your fav here!)???

Regardless, no one would pass up another excuse for a gift giving occasion, right??!! And for Labor Day week/Fall in general, here are a few things to consider treating yourself to…

mnglogo.jpgSpa Goodies! If you can get to your local favorite spa, RUN there! But if you can’t get yourself ANYTHING by Ole Henrikson. We’ve raved about Ole’s prodects before, but it doesn’t hurt to say it again! I love the Spa Body Kit because it’s a little bit of all my favs! The Detox Tea Tree Oil Soak sure looks nice too!

eb06im_0114265_100c1.jpgRetail Therapy! Depending on your style, there are a lot of avenues for this one. For me, it was a nice pair of jeans. It’s taken me a lot of years to finally figure out that you get what you pay for in the jeans department! I currently LOVE the Natural Boot Cut Stretch Jeans from Eddie Bauer. And if jeans aren’t your thing, take a look at the Denim Boot Skirt…boots not included, so add that to the shopping list!

Planet Jill NecklaceJewlery! Nothing flashy, a little every day jewlery never hurt anyone! I like the slide necklaces available in the fall Lia Sophia collection. The slides are nice because…one necklace and lots of looks! I like Lia Sophia because it’s affordable, guaranteed, and there is usually a mom or two selling it so it’s a great way to help a mom in business. Another great option are the super cute necklaces from Planet Jill we’ve mentioned before!

213zqltdm1l__aa115_.jpgGive! I would have had this on my list even if Bill Clinton wasn’t unveiling a new book called Giving: How Each Of Us Can Change The World this week. In a nutshell, give time, money, goods, whatever you can. Volunteer anywhere you’re interested and there is a need, money can be given to organizations like Kiva and Save The Children, and goods can be donated to just about anywhere there is a need. No joke, you feel AWESOME when you give to others.

So this will get you started…and after a full day of treating yourself, you’ll be thrilled that you can plop on the sofa and watch a new episode of Dancing With The Stars soon…oops, there I go again with my fav shows…thank goodness for tvo!
